WSHU Public Radio - Republican ItsHaky aims to unseat DeLauro

Boaz ItsHaky says he’s up to the challenge of unseating incumbent Democratic Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro on November 4. DeLauro has represented Connecticut’s third district for nearly 18 years, and won her last re-election with 76 percent of the vote. In the first of two stories on the third district congressional candidates, WSHU’s Craig LeMoult spoke with ItsHaky, who says his professional training gives him a different approach to politics. He’s an acupuncturist.

ItsHaky Going for Upset, Youth Vote

“I am very interested in the younger voters. They are the future of this district and this state,” said ItsHaky. “I go after the youth vote as much as possible.”

The 49 year-old Republican candidate is running for the third congressional district of Connecticut in the United States House or Representatives. His counterpart is Democratic incumbent, DeLauro, who is running for a tenth consecutive term.

For ItsHaky, grabbing the youth vote is more than just getting votes, its about changing the very fabric of Connecticut.

“My main concern is the brain drain, with young people who come here to acquire higher education and not able to be attracted to stay here,” said ItsHaky. “I want to reverse that by finding more jobs in Connecticut and more affordable housing.”

An American Agenda for the 21st Century: Immigration

Rich emailed me a question:

“I notice there is no position on illegal immigration on your site.  The majority of Americans want this fixed for certain. When will the site have a position on this?”

Rich here’s what I think will work best…

An American Agenda for the 21st Century: Immigration

Short Term

·         Seal tight our permeable borders as soon as possible, because national security and entry routes are key issues concerning illegal immigration.

·         Initiate a four (4) months time period, through which all illegal immigrants will be required to register with the authorities. We ought to know how many immigrants are living illegally in the United States, because at this time we simply don’t know and we can’t keep guessing, 11 million… 20 million.

·         From the end of that period and until congressional action on the matter – Illegal immigrants found not to be registered with the authorities shall be deported.

·         All illegal immigrants with past and/or present (additional) criminal activities shall be deported immediately.

Mid Term

·         Establish a bi-partisan committee, which will provide recommendations to Congress.

·         The committee will be structured with an equal number of members from each party.

·         The committee will be assigned to provide with a unified (bi-partisan) long term solution to illegal immigration.

·         The committee will present its conclusive recommendations to Congress within a timetable of no longer then one year.

Long Term

·         Congress will review the committee’s conclusion – amend (if needed) – ratify and bring it into action.

·         It is also important to remember that planetary prosperity – equal to ours – will drastically reduce illegal immigration.

Respectfully,

Boaz “Bo” ItsHaky

Boehner, GOP Leaders Demand Speaker Pelosi Call Emergency House Session to Vote on Lower Gasoline Prices

Washington, Aug 1 - House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today joined other House Republican leaders in sending a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and demanding that she call an emergency session of the House to schedule a vote on the American Energy Act (H.R. 6566) to lower gasoline prices.  Excerpts from the letter, along with the full text, are below:

“With American families and small businesses facing record high gasoline prices, Congress has adjourned to leave Washington for a five-week break.  The message this sends to the American people is bad enough; its ramifications, however, are far worse.  You have the power to call Congress back into session at any moment to deal with issues of urgent national importance,” the letter from GOP leaders to Speaker Pelosi states.  “No one can argue that the issue of high energy costs and their impact on American families does not rise to this level.  That is why we write today to request that you call Congress back into an emergency session this month and schedule a vote on the American Energy Act (H.R. 6566).  Such an action will ensure our nation’s energy crisis receives the attention – and action – it deserves.”

“It is well past time for Congress to lift the ban on environmentally-safe exploration for oil and gas on the Outer Continental Shelf and act on other critical reforms to increase production of American energy and lower the price of gasoline,” says the letter.  “We should not wait until September to do so, and frankly, we should not wait another day to do so.  Congress should not take the next five weeks off while the American people suffer at the pump.  We respectfully request that you schedule a vote on the comprehensive American Energy Act during an emergency legislative session this month.”

NOTE:  Today, House Republican leaders sent Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) a letter demanding that she call Congress back into an emergency session this month and schedule a vote on the American Energy Act (H.R. 6566).

ENERGY CRISIS

Published by boazitshaky under Issues

Given the focus on increased drilling recently, the pullback in oil shouldn’t come as a surprise. Some even predicted it. Eric Bolling, a commodities trader and well known analyst wrote a prescient column for TheStreet.com at the end of June just before oil began its big slide. Anticipating the possibility of new drilling, Bolling observed, “the pension funds, hedgies and other speculative interests might bail on a maturing bull run in oil. Selling on top of selling might break the bull market’s back and send prices south for now.”

It’s clear now that Bolling was right, and he’s not alone. CNBC contributor and author of World Event Trading Andy Busch wrote last week,

“A coherent, logical plan of action towards providing long term solutions will have a positive impact now on the price of energy. Why? Because it will shift the short term psychology of the market away from doom and gloom towards a light at the end of the tunnel scenario…. Did [recent discussion of increased drilling] significantly change the short term outlook for oil? No, but it changed the discussion on the subject at a time when it was needed. In turn, this aided the shift in market psychology back to some fundamentals like demand….which is dropping.”

While Barack Obama may say that drilling will “not give Americans any short-term appreciable savings,” oil’s fall over the past few weeks teaches otherwise. Not only will offshore drilling help us to secure America’s energy independence for the long term, but even the mere possibility of drilling can help reduce prices now.

Oil prices are governed by a broad range of factors and hope for new drilling alone can’t keep prices falling forever. The only real solution is a comprehensive energy strategy — such as that proposed by John McCain in his Lexington Project — that will encourage the development of alternative sources of energy along with increased drilling and other steps to ensure America’s energy future.

An American Agenda for the 21st Century: Compassionate Economics

Published by boazitshaky under Campaign News, Economy, Issues

An American Agenda for the 21st Century: Compassionate Economics

• Bo Itshaky believes that compassionate economics will do best for “Us the People…” by providing with a constructive free enterprise and as fewer regulations as possible. Bo also realizes that our economy is directly dependant on the health of our education system, the overall skills that it yields, and the health of our energy security and independency. To summarize – the well being of our way of life.

• Bo stresses that “We the People…” is the most important special interest group and will deny insiders from privileged deals and special treatment.

• Compassionate economics realizes the existential bond between humans and Earth. It promotes economical growth that is ecologically sensitive (to the best we can at any given time) and is in sync with Nature’s nature.

• As well it will enhance our constructive planetary leadership by developing the 21st century’s energy technologies – produce it and share it with other nations following guide lines established by our national security and foreign policies. The research, development and production of such technologies will create many jobs here at home and will prevent from the transfer of domestic wealth resulting from the current massive fossil fuels imports.

America’s 21st Century Energy Agenda

Published by Bo for Congress under Energy

An American Agenda for the 21st Century: Energy
As a whole – our health is inseparable from the planet’s well-being

Bo ItsHaky will promote a long term energy policy that will not only carry the United States through the 21st century – and beyond – but also will able us U.S. to continue to lead constructively and promote comprehensive health, which in return will yield a planetary well-being. All will win!

Root causes contributing to our current energy crisis:
• Increased demand for energy across the planet. Can we blame others for wanting to improve their way of life?
• Current supplies do not meet demands.
• Fossil fuels are almost exclusively the only game in town (Planet Earth).
• The largest percentage of fossil fuels supplies are currently extracted by unstable countries, many of which promote violent ideologies and the suppression of individual aspirations for equal opportunities, freedom and the right to choose. As a result Fossil fuels are the most counter-constructive factor implicated in the incitement and inducement of so many geopolitical conflicts.

America’s 21st Century Energy Agenda – Objectives:
• To provide with a realistic and balanced long term policy that will able “Us” to adjust to our energy needs – yet reinstate Earth’s ecological well-being; consequently its inhabitants – us included – we can not and will not excel without the bees.
• Achieve a planetary geopolitical peace without a single shot by reclaiming the geopolitical “trump card” – energy independence and security – and sharing it constructively.

America’s 21st Century Energy Agenda – 4 phases Solution – duration, 15 to 20 years (preferably less):

1st phasethe dim but visible light at the end of the tunnel

• Prepare and approve legislation that will initiate massive domestic energy conservation actions.
• Prepare and approve legislation that will allow further domestic fossil fuels explorations – up to 100% of our current domestic energy demands and until the end of the 4th phase.
• Prepare and approve legislation that will eliminate tariffs on the imports – until the end of the 4th phase – of cheaper, more energy efficient bio-fuels.

2nd phase

• In the spirit of the “Manhattan Project”, “Apollo Project” and CERN project combined; begin planning for a crush new energies project, which will develop the 21st century (and beyond) new energy sources and technologies.
• Begin tapping into our domestic fossil fuels resources as needed.
• Begin building additional multi purpose 21ts century refineries.

3rd phase

• E Project – full steam ahead.

4th phasethe long lasting stunning light outside the tunnel is shining upon us bright!

• E Project – Implementing new energy technologies and resources into the common market and our way of life.
• Phasing out our fossil fuels dependency.
• Modifying multi purpose refineries to the needs of E’s project new fuels and technologies.
• Harmony accomplished ;)
